Important info!
Hello my lovely followers! I am sorry that this isn't a fic update. But I do have some exciting news for you: First of all, I am slowly coming back into writing fanfics. It's NOT BSD yet but I am hoping to come back to my ongoing fics and promised requests next month. (I haven't forgotten about you! I promise!) For now, to all of my JJK fans, by popular demand I've set up a new account where you can read my JJK (and eventually other fandom) stuff: Raven-Cincaide (@raven-cincaide) For those of you looking for writing advice, prompts, beta reading and such. I have been locked out of my words account so set up a new one: See here, Raven-Cincaide-Words (@raven-cincaide-words)I will also be sharing my general thoughts on writing, struggles and sneak peaks there. Finally for my more observant followers, you'll notice that a lot of (hopefully all but I'm still working on it!) my NSFW stuff is set to private now. Unfortunately some minors have been lurking about there and just being downright shitheads and braggy brats that they're in places I don't want them to be and then rubbing it in my face. Once blocked they crying and spam me from additional accounts for blocking them, clouding my inbox. So since people can't behave and I am not in the emotional state to handle this type of kindergarten stress I am going to move ALL my NSFW stuff to a separate account: Miss-Cincaide (Still being set up!- @miss-cincaide). It will be easier for me to block people but also posts shorter thirsts and also start up with headcannons for those into it. BUT!! It is not only going to be reposts. Rather Every.Single.Fic is going to be re-written, and have either a follow up, a surprise or something extra posted at the same time as the re-written stuff. So you'll not only be reading updated versions of old fics- but seeing some brand new dirt as well ;) The goal is to be done with everything by Oktober (So there'll be two posts of naughty dirty per day during kinktober month, yaay!) Hope you're with me on these changes, thank you everyone who's been checking up on me. And slowly, Raven is flying back!

🎃🎃🎃
It started when you were asleep. The sound woke you slowly at first. You stirred out of a dream that involved a strange creature in the distance, moving and making a sound. A sound that sounded vaguely familiar but that you couldn’t place.
Then you woke and the sound was still there. It startled you. You weren’t used to unidentifiable sounds in the little structure that you, Din, and Grogu were living in. It was small enough that you were familiar with every single sight, feel, smell, and sound in it. But not this one.
Heart beating quicker, you reached out for Din in the dark. His strong arm was warm under your hand and you squeezed it a couple times, wanting him to wake quickly but quietly, just in case.
Din woke up quicker than you. He always did after years hunting and never letting his guard completely down. Normally, you were glad that he felt like he could with you and Grogu, able to even remove his armor for comfort like sleep. But now you wanted the hunter, the man that would protect you and Grogu from anything that could come your way.
“What is it?” Din asked, moving close so he didn’t have to speak above a whisper.
“Do you hear that?” you paused, letting him listen.
You couldn’t see his face in the dark, but you could picture his expression. Brows furrowed, eyes squinting in concentration, and the firm line of his mouth.
“It’s inside. Clearly it doesn’t know we’re here or it would be less loud. I’ll take care of it,” Din told you, shifting slowly to grab his helmet on the bedside table. Always there, security and safety in one gleaming piece of beskar.
In seconds, Din was walking through the doorway with helmet and gauntlets on. You were standing as well, planning to walk behind Din to Grogu’s room so you could ensure the little one’s safety. Behind Din so he could act as your shield. His words.
The two of you parted in the hallway and you rushed into Grogu’s room as Din rushed to the noise. As your eyes fell to the empty little bed, your heart fell out of your chest as you finally realized what the sound had been. Eating.
One second before you fell to your knees in despair, Din’s voice called out, “He’s in here!”
You were in the kitchen the very next second, ready to do anything to save Grogu. But a very different, much less devastating sight was before you than you expected.
Grogu was standing, completely unharmed, in front of the conservator and surrounded by half eaten and strewn-about food. He must have had a bite of everything you had in there. He was covered in something sticky and the crumbs that had stuck to that, but none of that mattered as you scooped him up into your arms and hugged him close.
“Oh thank goodness you’re okay,” you breathed, heart rate slowing down for the first time in several minutes.
“He’s covered in food. He ate everything,” Din countered, although his tone was more tired than frustrated.
“You must be going through a growth spurt, huh? Are you still hungry or should we clean you up and get back to bed?” you asked the little green child blinking up at you.
He made one of his cooing sounds and you knew it was a sleepy one. So you said, “Alright, a quick wash-up right after you move all this stuff to the waste bins. Din, I can take care of him if you want to go back to sleep.”
Grogu waved a hand over your shoulder, moving everything to the correct bin in seconds. Din watched the movement before responding, “No, I’ll do a security check then join you.”
You nodded with a small smile, knowing that even something harmless like this set off his protective instinct and let him do what would help him go back to sleep peacefully while you did what would help you. You turned your attention back to Grogu, “Let’s get you cleaned up. And while we do, we can talk about what you should do if you get hungry in the middle of the night again.”

Day number threee, heck yeaaaah.
Prompts: @raven-cincaide-words
(My first language is NOT English)
Tumblr media
Day 3.- Distance
Steven Dunlop (The little traitor, 2007) x Fem!reader
Tumblr media
When the distance was greater between them, their feelings grew stronger, and the longing kept them faithful and strong, sure of each other's feelings.
Steven and his fiancée, whom he had proposed to days before he left.
Dunlop often thought of his fiancée, when there was curfew and no one was on the streets, he would stroll slowly through the alleys, sometimes focused on the task and mission at hand and sometimes lost in thought, fidgeting the necklace you had given him as a gift when he left.
On nights like this, the loneliness felt much deeper, much more piercing, so much so that it squeezed his heart and with every step he took it seemed to echo in the silence of the empty streets.
The weight of the necklace around his neck was a constant and pleasant sensation, a constant reminder of the promises he had made.
In those darker alleys, when it was his turn to patrol on nights where the moon was big and bright and the stars gave brush strokes in the blackish sky, Steven allowed himself to lose himself in memories of you.
Those memories flooded his mind, the shared moments, the kisses, the laughter and the plans for the future. Images of you, with your bright smile and dazzling, loving eyes, projected in his mind like a beautiful painting.
They lit up the night for him.
It was in those moments of silence and darkness that the longing was most intense, when his heart pounded the hardest, and he longed even more for your presence.
Sometimes, on lonely nights, he could almost hear your voice, soft and melodious, whispering words of affection against his ear, the laughter of the silly and senseless jokes he sometimes told you echoed in his mind, as if you were in a perpetual state of joy, next to him, by his side, with that mischievous gesture he loved.
And so, in those lonely hours, where the blanket of night fell over him, Steven Dunlop longed for your presence and cursed the long distance that separated them, remembering the promises whispered in the dark.

Ringing Up The Lights
Advent Calendar Day 21! (prompts by @raven-cincaide-words) Today’s prompts: Christmas Decorating | New Relationship | Caring Act Fandom: Ted Lasso - Pairing: RoyJamie & TedTrent 1.7k[Ao3]
Was a little embarrassing wanit?
Jamie might have just hired someone to hang his Christmas lights – he was Jamie Tartt, he couldn’t just go crawling around on ladders. He could fall and break his legs! His very valuable legs! But Phoebe had been very excited to help him decorate, saying Roy never let her put too much Christmas stuff in his house.
“I will not have that performative Christian garbage steal focus from my menorah.”
And, yeah, that was fair play.
But Jamie’s house was fair play, and he was happy to let Phoebe go crazy with the generic garland and tinsel he’d ordered from the shops.
And if she was decorating inside, he had to decorate outside. And he had no idea how to do that. He’d never had a dad to teach him.
So he’d called Ted.
“So you see, that’s why we got the light clips, Jamie! Back in the day we needed to staple these babies to the roofs.”
Jamie pursed his lips. “But wouldn’t that put a bunch of holes in your roof?”
“Yes it would, Paul Rudd! But if you were smart, you’d only nick a couple shingles. Easier to replace if things went south.”
Jamie nodded, mentally jotting that down.
Ted had been dead helpful. Helped him and Phoebe plan what they wanted their lights to look like. Helped Jamie measure everything so they could get enough lights. Told Jamie about the different kinds of lights he could get. Like dangly ones! Or lights that could change colors! Jamie got real excited when he thought about the different styles. It was like playing dress-up with his house.
They’d chosen base pink with rainbow focal points and white accents. It was gonna look fucking sick, Jamie couldn’t wait to be able to do it himself next year.
But having Ted here was actually pretty fun. Maybe he could ask Ted to come over even without helping him with the lights.
“Well that’s that ledge done!” Ted said, from the top of the ladder. Jamie held it steady. “You wanna try to do the next one, Jamie? You think you got it?”
“Yeah.” Jamie said, nodding up at Ted. “Yeah, I can do it. I’m gonna be so good at this decoratio’ shit.”
Ted laughed. “Well I’ll bet, Joan Jett! Let me climb down and we can move the ladder onto the next one.”
Jamie nodded again, moving a bit to the side so Ted could dismount the ladder.
When Jamie got to the top himself on the next ledge over, he got a bit nervous. He didn’t super love heights.
“There you go, Jamie! Just hook your arm around the ladder and you can use two hands. You just gotta get the first two clips and then you can get on the roof and clip them from the top.”
Jamie took a deep breath, working with the clips. His eyes started to blur with how hard he was concentrating on them.
“So, you wanna tell me what you and Roy are doing for the holidays?” Ted prompted. “It’s real nice of you to let little miss Phoebe take over your house like this.”
Jamie laughed. “I had to talk her into the pink, actually. She’s been on a green kick. Getting into lizards.”
Ted laughed back. “That explains why she’s making inside look like Jurassic Park. So much garland it’s like an extremely evergreen jungle.”
Jamie hummed, clipping the lights on the same place he’d seen Ted start on the other side.
“Roy and I are doing Christmas with my parents at my house,” Jamie told him. Because we’ve got the match on boxing day. But Hanukkah is actually the whole week between Christmas and New Year’s this year! So we’re doing eight horny nights.”
Ted chuckled, and Jamie looked down to see him shaking his head. “The natural successor to Sexy Christmas.”
Jamie hummed, biting his cheek to contain a grin. “Jewish people are so wise. All their celebratin’ is in the nighttime. We don’t even have to miss training or nothing.”
“And thank heavens. Just don’t be too sore to play.”
“That’s a little personal, Coach. innit?”
Ted helped his hands, immediately putting them back to steady the ladder when Jamie’s eyes went wide with panic.
Jamie breathed, looking back at the roof to clip the second light. Then he threw the rest of the string on the roof and climbed on after it.
“Ooh, this is mad. I hate this. Why am I doing this meself? My sexy little body’s too valuable to die.”
“You’re not gonna die, Jamie, you’re doing great.”
Jamie breathed again, refusing to stand up. He crawled along the roof like the lizards Phoebe loved so much, grabbing the lights and reaching toward the edge to clip the next one.
“What about you and Trent?” Jamie asked, trying not to think about how high up he was. “What’s the story there?”
Ted hesitated, making a noncommittal sound. Jamie rolled his eyes.
Roy was inside with Phoebe helping her decorate and making lunch for all of them. He was sweet like that. He and Jamie had a good thing going.
Trent Crimm was also inside. He’d come with Ted. For what reason, Jamie couldn’t even fathom. He wasn’t good in the kitchen. He wasn’t tall enough to help Phoebe reach the really high places. He could probably lift her up to reach but that was about it.
Jamie thought if anything Trent would be out here heckling them, just spending time with Ted and watching him with the lovesick eyes he’d been watching him with for years now.
So something was up and Jamie wasn’t above fishing.
Well maybe he was now physically above fishing because he was so so high up. But Jamie was trying not to think about that.
“Come on,” Jamie tried again. “Did I interrupt a date asking you to come here? Sorry if I did. You could have told me no.”
“No, I wouldn’t do that, Jamie,” Ted said, automatically. “It’s really no trouble. And Trent was happy to come along.”
“So it was a date?”
“Uh…”
Jamie looked down at him. His mustache twitched in indecision.
Was he unsure if it was a date or was he unsure if he should tell Jamie it was a date?
Either way… “Tell me he’s at least told you he’s in love with you.”
Ted choked, looking down. Jamie clipped the next light.
He actually clipped the next three lights, scuttling across the roof on his belly, before Ted answered. “Yeah, uh. Yeah he did.”
“About fucking time,” Jamie said, emphatically. “Did he tell you how long he’s been in love with you?”
Ted cleared his throat. “Yeah. Yes. Yeah he did.”
“Cool,” Jamie said grinning. “Hope you reacted better than Roy did. I told Roy I’d been in love with him since I was a lad and his brain about exploded.”
Ted choked on a surprised laugh. “Yeah, ha, yeah that sounds about right.”
“Not sure why that was a surprise, if I’m honest,” Jamie said, face scrunched in thought as he remembered. “He knew I was obsessed with him. Knew he was my favorite player. Saw the poster in my room. Of course I was in love with him!”
“Well, ah, Jamie, Roy probably thought you loved the idea of him,” Ted said, haltingly. “It’s different to like someone you don’t really know. And then you know them you might be disappointed.”
“Well, that’s a load of bollocks,” Jamie said, easily. He was getting close to the last of his lights. “Yeah, I had a crush on Roy Kent the player. Would wank over his poster as a teenager or whatever, but that illusion shattered when I met him, didn’t it? He was a right prick to me. So then I got to see the real him and love him that way, fucking obviously. And he fell in love with me back because I’m sexy and amazing at football and I’m gonna be twice the legend he ever was. So of course we’re in love and shit.”
Jamie clipped the last light and looked down to see the stricken look on Ted’s face.
And something in Jamie’s head went thunk and he got it.
“Oh, Coach, is that what happened to you? Did you think Trent fell for your yeeha bullshit and he’s not gonna like the messy coach underneath? Because, like, he was there for all of it, yeah? He reported your panic attacks and everything. And he’s a Diamond Dog so he’s been in on all your weird little thoughts and feelings. And like you’re all fit in a weird coach way. And not like Roy’s fit and a coach but different. So like he’s definitely in love with you for you. And he’s Trent Crimm, he’s got the sexy reporter thing going and he called you on your bullshit immediately which I know you liked and he’s still got all that earnest enthusiasm you have so of course you’re gonna fall in love with him back.” Jamie shrugged – not an easy feat when he was still belly down on a roof twenty feet above Ted’s head. “‘S not that complicated.”
Ted looked up at Jamie like Jamie had been speaking Mandarin – like Ted wasn’t quite getting it – but Jamie had to get off the roof now. He could let Ted figure shit out when he was safely on the ground.
“Ted, can you hold off on an aneurysm until I’m down the ladder please? Or maybe get Roy?”
Ted just nodded, stepping away from the ladder and running into the house.
Jamie sighed, shuffling back to the ladder as he waited for Roy to come out.
Roy lumbered outside, looking around before his eyes travelled up the ladder to find Jamie.
Jamie waved.
“Oi!” Roy said, immediately grabbing the ladder. “Come back down here, you muppet, you’re too valuable to fall off the roof and die!”
“That’s what I said!” Jamie called. “Please just hold that still, I’m coming down.”
Roy grunted. “Wanna tell me why Ted and Trent are making out in your kitchen?”
Jamie laughed. “I think I’m a love psychic.”
“You’re a bellend,” Roy replied easily. “But I’m happy for them. Trent was getting pathetic.”
Jamie reached the ground, turning to grin at Roy, still standing very close. “Not like us.”
Roy rolled his eyes but leaned down to kiss him. “No, not like us.”

Horror Movies (ENG VER.)
Prompts by @raven-cincaide-words
The kids had decided to have a Halloween movie marathon, nothing too scary because afterwards Philza and Missa knew they would end up with the two terrified kids in their room and bed. Thanks to Anabelle and It, Philza had been pushed out of his own bed, from next to his boyfriend's warm side, by his two brats.
So now they were watching, ‘The Adams Family’ at the request of Tallulah, who had stated and reaffirmed, that they were very much like the family of manic goths.
‘Hey, we may be goths, but I don't think we're maniacs,’ the blond had tried to defend himself, but then thought about it a bit, his boyfriend was literally the grim reaper, he was called the Angel of Death and well, the brats are their children… ‘I take it back, Princess, you're right.’
Missa let out a giggle, ‘Hey, at least we're a family of united goth maniacs’ he said, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend to pull him closer to his body.
The four of them were curled up on the couch, Chayanne was sitting on his dad Missa's lap, half sprawled over one of the arms of the couch, Tallulah was leaning against Phil, with a big bowl of popcorn in her lap.
In the movie, Wednesday Adams was electrocuting her brother Pugsley. Tallulah was silently clapping, clearly thrilled by the Adams siblings' antics.
Chayanne chuckled a little at seeing his sister so excited about the movie, ‘I hope you're not getting any ideas, Lulah.’ He joked, though somehow you could hear the nervousness in his voice.
Missa ruffled his son's hair, ‘Don't worry, Chay. We don't have electric chairs in the house.’
‘We do have a generator, though.’ Philza said, more to himself than to the others.
Missa nudged him, ‘Don't give him ideas, my love.’
‘I don't need ideas,’ Tallulah said with her signs, ‘I can look up my own murder ideas.’
That made Chayanne's eyes widen in terror, because Chayanne may be a withering warrior, but his little sister was something that made him quake in his wellies.
They weren't even halfway through the film when the two children had fallen asleep, although neither of the two adults noticed, quite interested in the film.
When the credits rolled, Missa was going to ask Chayanne what movie he wanted to see now that it was his turn to choose, but the boy was drooling on the arm of the couch. He went to tell Tallulah that she could pick another movie, but the girl was in a similar state to her brother, still holding the bowl of popcorn, though it was already empty, her purple cap was about to fall off her head.
‘I think they fell asleep.’ Philza said with a laugh.
Missa giggled, ‘I don't plan on moving them, if I have to deal with two kids acting like babies when they're sleepy now I'll probably cry.’
Philza snorted, ‘Do you want to watch another movie?’
Missa nodded, rearranging Chayanne, so his neck wouldn't hurt in the morning.  ‘Do you want to watch Twilight?’
‘But Twilight isn't horror?’ Phil said in confusion.
‘If you think about it from Charlie's perspective yes,’ Missa said, ‘Imagine Tallulah grows up, and one day she tells us, dads I'm going to marry the town millionaire weirdo, I'm going to get pregnant, and I'm going to let him turn me into a vampire.’
‘No… Twilight no’ Chayanne speaking startled them both.
They both laughed, knowing their eldest son's distaste for the movie of sparkly vampires and teenage romantic drama.
‘I thought you were asleep?’ replied Missa, laughing.
All they got was a tired sound from Chayanne that no doubt made them laugh.
‘I'm going to put him to bed,’ Missa said, getting up with the child in his arms, ‘give me Tallulah.
Philza swallowed a laugh, ‘Sorry, love, but I don't think you can handle both of them, I can't handle both of them.’
Missa gasped in offence, ‘Are you trying to say I'm weak?’
‘Yes.’
Missa was puzzled and frankly offended, ‘Philza, I'm Santa Muerte, I think I can handle 2 kids.’
‘Yes, but you're in your mortal body, darling, and they're both dead weight.’ Said Philza resigning himself to the fact that his stubborn boyfriend decided to carry the two children in his arms, ‘You're going to drop them, and it's not going to be pretty.’
Missa looked at Philza with determination, ‘Watch and learn, my love,’ he said, bending down to pick up Tallulah, swinging Chayanne in one arm and lifting the girl carefully.
‘I really don't think that's a good idea…’ complained Philza, but he couldn't complain too much any more because Missa had balanced the two children almost perfectly, holding them on his hip, the children almost by a reflex had wrapped their arms around Missa's neck.
‘See, I told you I could,’ Missa said, though he was clearly struggling to keep the children from falling off him.
Philza let out a sarcastic snort, ‘I'm going to take Tallulah before you drop her.’
Missa rolled his eyes, but let his boyfriend manoeuvre the little girl out of his arms, they both carefully climbed the stairs and settled the children in their beds. Chayanne immediately started looking for his Techno stuffed animal, hugging it as soon as he found it. Missa made sure to hang Tallulah's hat on one of the bedposts, and put her headphones on their charging station.
They both tiptoed quietly out of the room, sighing when they saw that the kids hadn't woken up.
‘Do you still want to watch the movie?’ The blond asked, tired after struggling to get his son's pyjamas on.
‘The only shiny chest I want to see right now is yours, and I plan on lying on it.’ Said Missa pulling the Brit into his room, ready to sleep through the night.

October 10th
pairing: no outbreak!Joel x gn!reader
warnings: just fluff!
words: 926
a/n: Prompt for today is Horror Books from this list by @raven-cincaide-words (didn't realize it was going to be three days in a row, sorry for the spam tags haha). Sarah is 11 in this bc I said so
Directory, Day 9
Tumblr media
🎃🎃🎃
The way you and Joel started to get to know each other was through your shared love of horror books. You worked at the local used bookstore that he and his daughter, Sarah, frequented, coming in about every other week to get a new-to-them book each. You always recognized regulars and were able to pull up their rewards without asking their names, and you’d usually remember their reading tastes as well. But maybe it happened quicker with Joel because when he was in the store, it was hard to pay attention to anything else.
It also helped that his tastes seemed to align perfectly with yours. Every time you commented that he was getting a good book, he told you next time he had enjoyed it. And every time you refrained from saying anything but made a little face, he told you the next time that he had not enjoyed it. By the second time this happened, he was coming to you for recommendations before he even started looking.
Each time you saw them come in, your body flushed warm with happiness and excitement, knowing you’d get to talk with Joel about your shared hobby and usually also get to hear about Sarah’s most recent soccer games while you were ringing her and Joel up. You wished you could see them more, even more than when they started coming in every week. (You hoped against hope that you had something to do with that.)
Joel was trying to work up to it, asking you out. He didn’t want to bother you, you were at work after all and supposed to be polite to everyone. Tommy thought you were interested in him after all Joel told him about your interactions, but could he really trust Tommy?
But Joel did feel like he could trust Sarah’s impression of you. She was always very excited to go to the bookstore to see you and after every soccer game she’d mention telling you all about it. And by your interactions with her about something as mundane as 11 year old soccer games, you were a genuinely sweet person.
If Tommy wasn’t good for anything else when it came to dating advice, he had promised to take Sarah to the movies or something to give Joel time for a date once he actually did ask you out. Joel thought today would be the day. There was a fall fair coming up and it had one of those cheesy haunted house rides that he thought it might be fun to go through since you both liked horror books. It’d be like riding through some terrible pulp horror book. He hoped you’d think it was funny and not immature.
When he and Sarah walked into the bookstore, you were helping another customer, talking animatedly with excitement in your eyes. Joel hoped you’d be just as happy if he did ask you out. When he asked you out.
Sarah bolted past him into the children’s section, eager to see what Nancy Drews or Goosebumps she could add to her collection. Joel meandered around to the travel section since it was the closest to the register and he could talk to you as soon as you were free.
A minute later he heard, “You planning on going somewhere?”
Joel turned around, half thinking he heard some sadness in your voice even as you were joking. He shook his head and smiled when he saw you, “Can’t. How would Sarah’s team go on without her?”
You laughed, looking so happy and pretty that he felt his heartbeat quicken.
“So, any recommendations this week? You were right, there are some good alien horrors,” Joel admitted, referencing your recommendation from last week.
“See? Stick with me and you’ll be alright,” you shot him a look that he hoped you meant as flirty. It definitely brought a flush to his cheeks.
Before Joel had to come up with something to say, you started explaining the options you had found for him this week, which just so happened to be stashed under the front desk. The two of you discussed the merits of each until Sarah came back with two books, one Nancy and one Goose, as she called them.
Normally, Joel only let her get one book per visit because they only had so much room on their bookshelves and Sarah wasn’t willing to take any back for some store credit. But today, he was too nervous and not thinking straight and let her get both as long as she went back to the children’s section to one of the chairs and read until he was ready to go (i.e. he had finished asking you out and you had said yes).
You looked at him curiously and he shifted his weight, smiling sheepishly, “I, uh, wanted to ask you somethin’.”
He waited for your nod of encouragement before he swallowed and kept going, “Since you like horror books and all, I thought maybe you’d like to go check out the haunted house at the fall fair? It’d be like a pulp horror, you know?”
You looked thoughtful and he couldn’t tell whether that was a good sign or not. “Would… Sarah come too?”
“Nah, she’s gonna go to one of the new cartoon movies with my brother. This would be…” Joel cleared his throat, “It’d be a date.”
Your look quickly changed from thoughtful to happy. Your smile was bright enough it made him feel all warm inside and you nodded, “Yeah, Joel, yeah I’d really like that.”

And he loved me so naughty
Advent Calendar Day 2! (prompts by @raven-cincaide-words) Today's prompts: Ugly Sweater | Friend of a Friend | Mulled Wine  Fandom: House MD - Pairing: Hilson .6k[Ao3]
Wilson felt the double tap of House’s cane against his shoe but ignored it. If it was important, House would interrupt.
Well, even if it wasn’t important, House would interrupt. So there wasn’t a reason for Wilson to do House’s work of being rude for him.
Sure enough. “Need a consult,” House said before turning to the woman Wlson was talking to. “Don’t let his ugly sweater and sympathetic face fool you: this man is a Jewish slut. But don’t worry– I’m sure there are other good Christian boys you can bring home for the holidays.”
Wilson smiled apologetically at her before turning to House. “You don’t have a patient.”
“I just got a patient.”
“And is the patient that jug of mulled wine you have behind your back?” he asked. “Because I have heard those are at higher risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. I could probably do a biopsy with a corkscrew if you have one.”
House smirked, bringing the jug in front of him and holding it up like he was surprised. “Oh, would you look at that! Now come drink her with me.”
Wilson raised an eyebrow at him. “Wine? And we’re needle dropping some Joni MItchell, I’m assuming?”
House winked. “Best way to get wine drunk.”
“Fast Car by Tracy Chapman,” the woman cut in. “That’s a better wine drinking song.”
House raised his eyebrow at her. “With this potion and that chanting, I’m not sure I wouldn’t emerge from that ritual as a lesbian.”
“From that whole exchange, I kind of assumed you already were one.”
Wilson dropped his head, burying his smile in his hot chocolate. “House, this is Harper. She’s a friend of Thirteen’s.”
House turned his body to face her fully now, his hand flexing on his cane.
“What kind of friend? Rock, paper, or scissors?”
“Well I can guess what the scissors stands for–”
“I’ll bet you can.”
She snorted. “Not that one. Is rock partying and paper is work?”
House grinned. “So Thirteen talks about me outside of work. Cool.”
Wilson screwed his face up. “That’s a leap.”
“No other way she’d parse the metaphor that fast.”
“Or she’s used to talking to Thirteen who thinks eerily like you.”
“Jeeze, Wilson, no need to be mean,” Thirteen said, coming up behind House. She snagged the wine from him. “I heard the call of Joni Mitchell. We getting out of here?”
“Since you’re stealing my stolen wine, I can only assume that Wilson and I are invited?”
Wilson made eye contact with Thirteen, shrugging a little like ‘Let him have this.’
She rolled her eyes. “You’re not gonna convince us to make out so you can watch,” she told House.
He grinned. “Wanna bet?”
She laughed. “Sure. Hundred bucks.”
“House, I’m not paying that when you lose,” Wilson jumped in.
“Why would I lose?”
“Why would you lose a bet that entirely depends on Thirteen deciding not to do something she was already planning on not doing?”
“She’s only planning on not doing it right now,” House told him. “But wait until they get to see us make out.”
Thirteen barked a laugh and Wilson felt his face getting hot.
Even still, he grabbed the bottle of wine and started heading toward the elevators. “Then what are we waiting for?”
Thirteen and her friend did not end up making out in front of them, but Wilson waking up in House’s bed the next morning couldn’t find it in himself to mind.
He still wasn’t giving House the hundred bucks.

🎃🎃🎃
“Hey who’s that guy that was looking over here when I came in?” Rita, your best friend who was over for a dinner and movie night, asked as you were grabbing aprons from your hall closet.
“Ugh, that’s my neighbor. His name is… something. I know his last name is Moreno, I don’t remember the rest,” you said, tossing her her apron and slipping yours over your head. “He’s an ass. The one who ruined my decorating plan.”
“Oh you mean your insane need to be first in everything?” Rita asked with a smirk.
“Hey, you’re supposed to be on my side, here,” you said with an exaggerated look.
Rita put on a straight face and said, “Right, right. What other horrible things did he do?”
You didn’t really have an answer to that so you busied yourself with filling a pot for pasta and answered when it was halfway full, “Well, he never introduced himself properly.”
Rita gave you a look, “Then how did you forget his name?”
Fuck, she had you there, “Okay, well, he has a kid and she’s nice and waves at me but he doesn’t.”
“Oh yeah, that is kinda rude,” Rita said thoughtfully. “And, really, how dare he look like that.” You were glad to have a fresh idea to glom onto, “Yeah! Who does he think he is, watching me open my front door like my company is any of his business.”
“Oh, that’s not what I meant,” Rita said. She took a sip of her wine, “I meant, how dare he look so good in just jeans and a t- shirt. Bet he looked like that and a little sweaty when you guys were decorating.”
You ignored the shit eating grin on her face, “You’re not helping.”
“Helping what? You continue your denial that your issue is having a crush on this guy and being too scared to do anything about it?” She was grabbing some of the ingredients out of the fridge now and you were getting the cutting board and knife. “Do you want me to suggest something else? We could cast a curse on him. I could call my abuela.”
“Put a pin in that, we’ll come back to it if necessary,” you said. “Let’s just get to cooking.”
Rita rolled her eyes but let you change the subject.
An hour or so later, you were about twenty minutes into your movie, a horror movie for the season, when a knock sounded at your door. The two of you jumped and screamed in near perfect unison but came to your senses and realized it was probably not a slasher coming to get you.
But possibly you still made Rita come to the door to answer it with you. The door swung open to reveal your neighbor and his daughter, Missy. You were surprised beyond belief and then Missy held up a tray of slightly misshapen and haphazardly decorated Halloween-themed sugar cookies.
“Hi! We brought cookies! Do you have milk?” Missy said, no breaths between sentences. “Missy, manners. You need to introduce yourself first,” your neighbor said in sotto voce.
“Oh right, my name’s Missy and this is my dad, Marcus. What are your names?” Missy asked and you could tell by Marcus’ (thanks heaven for Missy saying his name first) expression that that wasn’t exactly what they had practiced.
You and Rita introduced yourselves and then Rita told Missy, “You know, we do have milk. Why don’t you and I get some and serve up your cookies?”
As Missy and Rita disappeared around the corner, you heard Missy say, “Do you both live here? My abuela said a pretty lady lives here and you’re both pretty—”
You couldn’t help but look at Marcus with a bit of a smile.
His face wasn’t far from a smile either, “She repeats things and she’s always listening. Can’t say anything secret around her.”
“The cookies look fun. Are you guys really here for milk or did you come over to show off your work?” you asked, smiling more this time.
“Oh, show off, totally. We’ve got a gallon of milk at home, but you know me, I’m nothing if not competitive,” he said, giving you a wry look, but his eyes were sparkling with laughter.
You felt heat rise to your neck and cheeks and looked away before looking back, “Yeah, I’m still working on the friendly part of friendly competition. Or maybe that not everything needs to be a competition. Sorry for kinda blowing up at you. And thank you for your help.”
Marcus seemed a little surprised at your admission, but shook his head and said, “No worries, just being neighborly and all. Maybe we can work together for future holidays so that way we’re both first.”
You smiled, genuinely happy to hear that, “Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”
Marcus and Missy could only stay over for so long since it was close to Missy’s bed time, but they left you with the rest of the tray of cookies because they had another at home. You promised to get the tray back to them before long since it was pumpkin themed so they’d surely want to continue using it in October.
Missy had insisted that when you did come to bring it back that you stay over for a playdate so she could show you her collection of pink RC cars which were apparently her pride and joy. Rita made eyes at you over the top of Missy’s head, no doubt trying to convey some sort of joke about a “playdate” with Marcus. You shot her daggers but she just laughed and promised Missy for you that you’d absolutely love to see her collection.
You ushered them out as quickly and politely as you could lest Rita have another chance to embarrass you. Marcus accidentally bumped into you as he walked by and turned back to put a big, warm hand on your shoulder in a quick apology that left you feeling flustered and a little weak kneed as you closed the door.
“I need another cookie,” Rita said, expecting you to follow her into the kitchen, which you did. She grabbed a witch cookie with green skin and orange hair and bit her head off, speaking with her mouth full, “So you still wanna do that curse? Abuela’s still up with her bridge club.”
You grabbed a pumpkin that was pink with hearts on it and pouted, “No, no curses. Not for Marcus.”

I'll give it to someone special
Advent Calendar Day 2! (prompts by @raven-cincaide-words) Today’s prompts: Christmas Excitement | Ex | No Reply  Fandom: Supernatural - Pairing: DeanCas .6k[Ao3]
Cas was in the shower and his phone wouldn’t stop vibrating.
Dean groaned, pulling Cas’s pillow over his head as he tried to sleep in a little more. It was odd for Cas to be up before him, but Dean knew he was just really excited for Christmas. It had been four years now of them being together and Cas being human and celebrating Christmas together but it never quite lost the shine for Cas. Dean smiled to himself, even as he tried to smother himself back to sleep. Watching Cas experience humanity with wonder made Dean fall in love with life all over again.
But he didn’t love Cas’s phone fucking BLOWING UP.
He gave up on sleep, tossing the pillow and grabbing Cas’s phone.
Cas had started a group chat. Of it looked like everyone he knew.
Even as Dean looked at it, new notifications of messages of Merry Christmas and reactions to everyone else’s messages kept popping up. Dean swore to himself, scrolling up to see what Cas could have sent to have even Claire texting them this early.
He got to the top and scrubbed a hand over his face. It was the photo of the two of them Cas had convinced him to have taken.
Dean and Cas had had to go undercover at an officer’s Christmas party and Dean had had a little too much fun buying ugly sweaters for them. He was let loose in a thrift ship and managed to find the most heinous couple’s sweaters of all time. They even attached on the sides with strings of working lights. It said “Together, we make Christmas bright.”
Sam secretly sent Cas coordinates to a goddamn Macy’s so now Dean had a professional photo of him and Cas in these sweaters.
And Cas had sent it to everyone he knew.
They looked sweet in the photo together. Dean is holding Cas low on his hip, his head tilted down so his cheek rested on Cas’s hair. Cas’s hand was in Dean’s back pocket and he’d squeezed Dean’s ass at the last second to make a laugh explode out of him. His cheek was against Dean’s shoulder and he wore a smile that looked so pleased with himself.
Dean had already been planning to have the photo framed.
Cas’s phone was still vibrating. Dean sighed and turned it on silent, reaching for his own phone.
His phone was opened to his messages. For fuck’s sake, had Cas sent the picture to everyone he knew, too?
But no. It looked like he only sent it to one person on Dean’s phone.
Dean was still snickering when Cas came back in, his towel around his waist.
“Good morning, Dean,” Cas said, smiling. He walked in front of Dean and kissed his forehead. “Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas, Cas,” Dean said back, pulling Cas back to give him a proper kiss on the mouth. He held up his phone. “Wanna tell me why you’re baiting Crowley?”
Cas didn’t even bother trying to look anything but smug. “I just want to make sure he’s seen it.”
“And you couldn’t include him in the group chat?”
Cas wrinkled his nose. “Absolutely not.”
Dean chuckled, shaking his head as Cas turned to their shared dresser to pull on some clothes. “Well he definitely saw it,” Dean told him, wiggling his phone in Cas’s direction. “Fucker still had read receipts on.”
“Of course he does,” Cas muttered. “He’s a petty bitch who wants you to know.”
“Yeah?” Dean asked, grinning. “And what does that make you?”
Cas turned to Dean, eyes flashing. “Well, we always knew you had a type.”

Sweaters and Ties
Advent Calendar Day 12! (prompts by @raven-cincaide-words) Today’s prompts: (Secret) Santa | Co-workers | Workplace Romance Fandom: House - Pairing: Hilson 1.9k[Ao3]
Thanks to Wilson, House was at work way too early. Way too early was, in fact, 9am, a normal work time for most people, but House was not most people and he should be allowed to work on his own time.
It was extremely lucky that he walked into the outer office to see his fellows freeze like deer in headlights. Fantastic: he’d caught them doing something they didn’t want him knowing about. Now he could pretend like this was his plan all along.
“Gooooood morning, Krusty Krew,” House said, jauntily swinging his bag onto his chair. “Did I miss it?”
A frozen look from Taub. A defeated look from Thirteen. Chase grinning into his coffee. Kutner looking delighted and impressed. Foreman looking stoic but rolling his eyes.
Taub was holding a garbage bag. Chase was wearing a scarf around his neck that he would absolutely not buy for himself.
Someone had given it to him. They’d already thrown the paper away.
There were still more presents to exchange, but House wanted to guess who’d gotten Chase the scarf.
He squinted at him, sizing up the scarf. Autumn color palette. Definitely store bought, with the little tassels on the end that Chase had once complained were annoying. Way more of a pattern than Chase usually wears.
Easy guess would be Kutner but…
“Jeeze, Taub, don’t you know Chase is a winter?” He cast an exasperated look at his tiniest employee. “You make a shitty secret santa, Probably for the best you play for the other team.”
His team gaped at him so he clarified.
“The other team like the Jews,” he said, gesturing with his hand like that should have been obvious. “The non-Christmas celebrators.”
“Yeah, not really what we were confused about,” Thirteen told him, winning House’s spot of ‘favorite of the day’ by virtue of her being brave enough to talk first.
“I mean I kind of was,” Kutner piped in, making him House’s second favorite because he’d given him an opening to follow up on the joke.
“What else would– oh! You thought I was calling him a big dirty queer?” House asked, eyes comically wide. “No! I would never! I don’t want him on my team.”
Chase ran his hand over his mouth to hide his mouth. Third favorite. “I think I could pull off this scarf,” Chase said, dramatically tossing the end over his shoulder.
House rolled his eyes, turning for the coffee machine. “You hate that scarf. You think the tassels frizz up your hair.”
Kutner hummed in understanding and Taub turned a wounded look on Chase. “Wait, you hate it?”
“No!” Chase said, rushing to reassure. “No! No, it’s very nice. Thoughtful!”
“Unlike, all of you coming together to do a Secret Santa.” House turned, facing his team with his coffee mug held up, underscoring his pout. “Without me.”
Thirteen rolled her eyes. “Last time we tried, you rigged the system so we all had to buy for you.”
“Yeah! That was great!” House said, coming over to his chair and clapping Thirteen on the shoulder. “Why couldn’t we do that again?”
Foreman rolled his eyes this time. “Alright, Chase, you’re up. Who’d you get?”
“Well, Eric, as luck would have it,” Chase started, reaching into his bag and pulling out a flat bog with a bow. “I got you!”
Foreman huffed but when he leaned forward to accept the box, he was smiling.
“This should be an interesting look into their personal relationship,” House muttered to Thirteen, but loud enough that everyone could definitely hear.
So it wasn’t just House and Thirteen snickering when Foreman pulled out a leather belt.
Foreman looked like he was trying to ignore them, but his hand tightened a little on the box. “Uh, thanks man.”
“Hey, no, Chase that’s a nice gift,” Thirteen reassured. “Practical!” She turned to House. “Which anniversary is leather? The third?”
House snorted. “That’s for weddings. Much more likely this is the result of a secret leather daddy fantasy.”
“Not that secret,” Kutner muttered. House leaned over the table to high five him.
“Why are you here?” Foreman asked, putting the lid back on the box. “You’re never here before 11.”
“Well, clearly I came early so I wouldn’t be left out of the festivities I was wrongly excluded from!” House exclaimed. “And also Wilson dragged me in.”
Taub scoffed. “Talk about daddies.”
Taub was least favorite forever.
Foreman smirked (he was also least favorite) before turning to Chase, lifting the box. “Thanks. It’s a good belt.”
Kutner clapped, visibly happy with everyone liking their presents.
Foreman stuffed the box in his satchel bag before pulling out a paper bag.
“So, I got Kutner,” he winced, looking at the bag. “I didn’t wrap it.”
“Booo!” House jeered. “Negative points for presentation.”
“You can get the points back, though, if the present’s good!” Kutner said, cheerfully, before making grabby hands. “Gimme.”
Foreman huffed a laugh, walking around to hand Kutner the bag. Kutner immediately dumped the contents of the bag over the table.
He gasped. “No way, dude! Are these the from the new M10 expansion set?!”
“Uh, sure?” Foreman said as they watched Kutner scramble to pick up all the card packs. “Guy at the comic book store said they would be good.”
“They will be! Oh, man, the guys at my weekly tournament are gonna be sick. Should I open these now? So you can see if I get anything really good?”
Foreman’s eyes were panicked and House was about to interject to say ‘yes absolutely please tell us about your nerd card game’ but Thirteen jumped in. “Oh, no you don’t! I still don’t have my present so we have to keep it moving.”
Foreman cast a nakedly grateful look at Thirteen while Kutner looked sadly at the packs of cards. “Yeah, fine,” he sighed, but then immediately perked up again. “I actually had you, Thirteen!”
Thirteen didn’t wince but House still got the impression she was wincing. “Oh, cool!”
“Yeah!” He said, excitedly, pulling out his own wrapped box from his satchel. It was by far the most ornately wrapped. “And I know what you’re gonna think when you open it, okay, but it’s not an everyday thing. Or even like a special occasions thing! This is for a very specific situation.”
Thirteen narrowed her eyes at him, taking the box and working off the wrapping. “I swear to God, Kutner, if you got me lacy lingerie or–”
But she stopped. House leaned over her shoulder to look: in a clear case out of the wrapping was a pair of rainbow suspenders.
“See!” Kutner said. “You’re freaking out! But I promise you, these are just for Pride. I think all your clothes are probably too cool for Pride! But Pride isn’t supposed to be cool, it’s supposed to be loud and camp and embarrassing. You would never buy something embarrassing for yourself, but some situations need embarrassing things. And you already wear suspenders! So–” he gestured at the box again doing spirit fingers.
House leaned back in his chair. Would Thirteen go bitch mode, would she politely accept and then immediately unload the offensive accessory, or would her terminally bleeding heart win out.
Thirteen paused for a beat before saying “That’s actually really thoughtful, Kutner.” In a soft, and earnest tone.
House groaned. “No! Be cool and polite and then give them to a doctor in peds! Don’t get all sincere.”
Thirteen turned to him, smirking. “I’m going to keep these. And I’m going to wear them to Pride. And I’m gonna make out with so many women who I’ll take back to my apartment so they can see me in only the suspenders.”
House’s objection to the suspenders warred with his love of girl on girl action.
The girl on girl action won, as it always did. “So many women at the same time?”
She rolled her eyes, turning back to Kutner and putting a hand on his shoulder. “Thank you. Really.”
Kutner preened.
House rolled his eyes. “Okay, well, Thirteen had Taub so let’s let her give him some bland but professional looking socks so we can get back to our case.”
“We don’t have a case,” Foreman told him.
House groaned. “Then why am I here?”
“I don’t have Taub,” Thirteen said.
That distracted House. “So who do you have? If you have me, then I would be delighted, but I don’t have a gift for Taub so sorry Taub.”
“Is it my turn?” Wilson said, coming into the office and holding a blue gift bag. There was a cheery dreidel on the front. “Someone catch me up.”
House stared as Kutner dutifully gave a play by play.
“Taub got Chase a scarf, Chase got Foreman a belt, Foreman got me some Magic the Gathering expansion packs that are totally sick, by the way, I got Thirteen rainbow suspenders – DON’T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT SHE LOVED THEM! – and Thirteen was about to reveal that she had you for Secret Santa and House’s head was gonna explode.”
Wilson turned a smile on House, dropping the little gift bag on the table. “Oh good, so I'm just in time.”
“You were in on this?” House demanded. “Working against me with my team?”
“Yup!” Wilson said, cheerfully, coming to the head of the table to bump his hip into House’s side. “It was fun.”
House pouted. Wilson leaned down and kissed the top of his head.
“Well, James, it’s actually so lucky this played out the way it did,” Thirteen said, holding out a flat box to Wilson. “Because here is my gift to you.”
Wilson took it, nodding his head in acknowledgement. He opened the lid before smiling into the box.
House didn’t like that look of that smile. “Please tell me it’s not an ugly tie.”
“Au contraire,” Wilson said, yanking his own tie loose before pulling it over his head one-handed. He then used that hand to pull some garish fabric out of the box. “It is the ugliest tie.”
Thirteen cackled and the rest of the fellows grinned as House watched on with horror while Wilson knotted the ugliest rainbow tie in the history of the world.
He couldn’t even tell Thirteen it was a terrible gift. He hated it which meant Wilson would love it and so would the rest of the team. It was a gift for everyone but him.
“I’m feeding that thing to the garbage disposal as soon as we get home,” House promised. “With your neck still attached.”
“That’s fine, I’ve been meaning to get in there to do a deep clean, anyway.” Wilson smiled. He looked back at Thirteen. “Thank you, Remy, this is great. I’ll find a really good place to hide it, I promise.”
House reached up to try and yank it off and Wilson smacked his hand away.
“Nope,” Wilson told him. “But you can do what you want with my other tie.”
“And if I said I wanted you to tie my up under your desk–”
“Then I’m sure your fellows will report you to HR.” He kissed House’s head again.
Wilson passed the gift bag to Taub.
It was socks.
